[PCB Members] Music for Life

Hey Band,

I just want you to know that some of your colleagues participated in the Music for Life event at Bowman Middle School and did an outstanding job mentoring and playing with the Bowman band.  We had a very successful evening with a very pleased head director (Mark Caspersen) and very pleased parents and students.  The band sounded very well and students were attentive, cooperative and a pleasure with which to work.

Special thanks go out to Denise Guilbert and Jennifer Breitzmann for organizing and coordinating the event and to Jim Carter for rounding up the PCB players  necessary to run sectionals and participate “side by side” with the students in rehearsal and the performance.

The PCB has been bringing this program to PISD middle schools for about 6 years, and we have mentored about 10 bands.  Not only is this program very beneficial to the middle schools involved, but it also heightens the  exposure of PCB in the community.

Again, thanks to all involved for producing a very fine evening of music!
