[PCB Members] Oktoberfest concert opportunities - several PCB members play

Oktoberfest season is here.  The 22 members of the Bavarian - Texas Band arrived from Germany last Thursday.  They are now in the San Antonio area, performing at several different venues, including New Braunfels.  Next Thursday, 26 Sept.,  they will arrive in our area. See the attached narrative from the McKinney Oktoberfest website describing the band.  This is their 13th trip to Texas.  A large number of their players are also in the Musikkapelle Markt Erkheim (community band, loosely translated) which was judged in 2018 to be the best such band in the state of Bavaria (where over 2,000 community bands are at home.) 
 
 
There will be 2 opportunities to hear this exceptional band perform before they return to Munich on 30 September.
 
The first is Friday, 27 Sept, at the McKinney Oktoberfest in downtown McKinney from 5 - 7 pm on the Almrausch Stage (Intersection of Kentucky and Herndon, North of the square).  They will march in the opening parade and play at the ceremonial tapping of the Bier Keg.  Admission is free. 
 
 
The second is Saturday, 28 Sept. from 11 am until 4 pm at the SOKOL Hall in Dallas, near Greenville and Walnut Hill Lane.  Admission is $5.  One can also partake in the meal for $15.  See attached poster for more information.  In addition to the Bavarian Band, the Frohsinn Kapelle, Dallas Czech Orchestra, and the Frohsinn Singers will be performing. 
 
As a side note, several of the Plano Band members (Mark Montgomery, Warren Hancock, Chuck Vavra, Ron Wallace, and David Young) are members of the Frohsinn Kapelle and/or Dallas Czech Orchestra.
