DIRECTORS’ REHEARSAL NOTES FOR NEXT MONDAY NIGHT 9/17/18

8 weeks until the November 11 concert at the Eisemann!  Reservations are
now available on our website.  Tell your friends as we expect a huge crowd!

Great rehearsal last week.  Looking forward to Monday 9/17. We will work on
SLAVA at target tempo of quarter note = 144.  The target tempo for COWBOYS
is quarter note = 136.  Everyone, please work to get the technical passages
learned – there are A LOT of them! Always consider your ability and “edit”
when necessary to help the ensemble have an accurate, clean sound.

On the Jazz pieces, make sure you know where the accents and the housetops
are – that will make a big difference in how the piece sounds.  There are
tricky passages in Waltz of the Flowers, so take a look at those spots. We
will also work on *MACARTHUR PARK*.

PLAYBILL ADVERTISING

The program for the November concert will be in the “PLAYBILL” style.  This
will be a slick, glossy program for our 40th Anniversary.  We need
advertisers to help pay for this program.  Attached is the PCB Advertising
form so you can email it out to take it along with you when you visit
different businesses.  Ideas are restaurants, stores, doctors, dentists,
insurance agents.  The worst they can say is not this time – so you have a
50-50 shot at getting an ad for us.  Go ahead, go out on a limb!  You can
do it! The document is attached below.

40th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT INFORMATION

*SATURDAY NOVEMBER 10 2018 JPii 9 am to noon.*
Final rehearsal with Wayne.  Let your section leader know if you will not
be there.
