Notes from Joe – Fall 2016

Summer is fading and I always feel a renewed energy as fall approaches. It is one of my favorite times of the year. This is especially so as a new season of music making begins with the Plano Community Band. As I reflect on the incredibly wonderful time I have conducting this outstanding group of musicians, I can’t help but feel excited in anticipation of the upcoming musical literature, rehearsals and performances.

Conducting the PCB for the last nine months has been a tremendous privilege. Jennifer Breitzmann, our band President, keeps asking if I am still having fun and the answer is still an enthusiastic “yes!”. I look forward to every rehearsal and every opportunity I have to conduct this wonderful group of musicians.

Succeeding Tommy Guilbert has been an honor but also a challenge. As the saying goes, Tommy is a “hard act to follow”. ...

Conductors’ Corner

This year for the Plano Community Band will be an exciting one. We have the opportunity to perform for an entirely new audience for the PCB as well as performing with new and returning guest artists.

The next big indoor concert is on May 4th, 2014 at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. The concert is at a different time than in the past as we will start at 7 PM. We are excited about our guest artist ...
