Hey Band,

I thought you did an excellent job last night.  I was not expecting you to sound so well after missing a rehearsal.  Our pieces are coming along.  We still have a good amount of technical work on the Hindemith and Incantation and Dance.  Those pieces will come together quickly and with solid tempos if we get  better at the notes.  I can’t stress enough how important it is at this time, preparing for an impending concert, that you play your instrument at home as much as possible.  The improvement you will realize directly effects the pitch center and tone quality of the whole ensemble.

I also particularly want to thank the members of our percussion section, keyboards and harp, and Jim Carter for help with the sectional we did before rehearsal.  I know it accomplished what we needed and helped to speed up the Debussy rehearsal.

Attendance was very good.  Let’s please work to continue that and as always, communicate with your section leader if you have a conflict.
