Below are the links to the Virtual Festival from Saturday.
Thanks to all who made this happen on our end...Becky Miller and Warren Rubin alerted us to the opportunity back in October.Joe Frank and Jim Carter picked out literature and conducted.Jim did the editing, made sure our submission fit the festival specifications and got it turned in by the deadline.Sheila Winsor kept our FB page updated and sent us reminder emails. And Jim Carter was our "on air talent" for the Festival on Saturday the 26th.
We have so much to be thankful for in the PCB. Watching/listening to all 4 hours of 17 different bands brought these thoughts to mind.
- We have a large ensemble that has been chosen from a deep talent pool in the Plano area.
- We have a world class performance venue for our indoor concerts.
- We have professional recordings.
- We have talented director/educators who know how to pick music that challenges us, encouraging us to up our game each performance, and still be highly entertaining to our audience.
My favorite three bands were Plano Community Band (is anyone surprised?), Denver (CO) Concert Band and Helotes (TX) Area Community Band.
Watch for an email on January 6th for details on our next Band Zoom Clinic.
Happy New Year!

| Connecting local communities with live music Hello DeniseGreetings!THANK YOU!Well, what a marathon virtual festival that was! And the feedback has been absolutely amazing. You are a star! I am so pleased our groups connected - here's hoping our paths cross many times in the future. Here's the Facebook version:
https://www.facebook.com/dunedinmusicsociety/videos/248972599903808The video is being blocked in four European countries while the AI copyright software makes its mark (Yes, we do have permission from those copyright owners whose bots are challenging us), and with Facebook's recently revised analytics it's hard to compare exposure with our first two festivals. But with over 750 views so far that's nothing to be snarky about! Please share it.And here is the YouTube version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tugVLphDfNMOur tech team is in the process of trimming the compositions for which we only received copyright permission to broadcast during the livestream, so you may see some changes over the coming days but the link will stay the same. We are VERY happy with the number of views and comments via YouTube - more than four times each of our first two festivals :)Again, thank you for helping to make our world a better place through live music, for sharing your band's work with other enthusiasts, for such great conversations in minutely limited time, and here's hoping we can host another virtual festival in the Spring... whether or not we're performing live & in-person by then.Quick questions: 17 bands took almost 4 hours to present. Was that too many? Should we limit the number of participating groups? Should we not put any limits on participation even if it means 6 or 8 hours or more?!Best wishes,Stephen P Brown
