All 5 of them are outstanding musicians and we are honored that they are interested in being our Music Director. It was a difficult decision, but we have narrowed the field to 3 finalists. We believe each of these gentlemen would be a good fit with the Plano Community Band family. <o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black'>We considered their musical resumes. We considered their experience at state and national levels. We considered their willingness to take the band wherever the band wants to go. Given their amazing credentials, we then considered their personalities. We selected candidates who we feel are the right fit for the Plano Community Band family. The next Director must be someone with whom you could see yourself enjoying spending an afternoon going through scores, talking about band, or just shooting the breeze. We were not looking for another Tommy Guilbert, as Tommy was one of a kind. We were looking for someone whom we would end up respecting and admiring just as much as we did Tommy, but for his own unique qualities.<o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black'>The three finalists are (in alphabetical order): Dick Clardy, Joe Frank, and Mike Lipe.
