| Dear Denise,
“These are the times that try [our] souls”
These words from Thomas Paine, a founding father and contemporary of Alexander Hamilton, ring as true today as they did in the 1770s.
It’s hard to believe it was almost a year ago that we all gathered at the Music Hall to revel in the power and creative energy of HAMILTON—to share in the unique collective experience that only musical theatre can provide. Now, for the time being and for our safety, we must refrain from gathering at all—the very essence of what makes live theater so special has been taken from us.
For a thousand reasons, we at DSM are saddened and shocked by the developments of the past few weeks. As a performing arts organization, we are especially dismayed that this crisis is preventing us from doing what we exist to do: provide an escape from reality, a brief reprieve from hardship, new insight full of empathy and understanding, and welcomed moments of delight, wonder, and magic.
We know you have questions about rescheduling of shows, ticket exchanges, refunds, etc. Please know the DSM team is monitoring this unprecedented situation in real time. You have my word that we will address all of your questions as soon as we are able, through our website, social media, and email.
In the meantime, while we may not be able to come together at the Music Hall right now, DSM wants to continue entertaining you. Going forward, you can expect to see content on social media that we hope will spark some joy and laughter during this period of uncertainty.
