[Board] Site availability?

Hi All,

Sorry, I was far from the office yesterday.    I checked and don't see 
any notes about downtime, planned or otherwise.   No tickets, no 
reports... that said there are a couple reasons you could be locked 
out.  Our servers have some security measures in place that will detect 
malicious activity (typically failed login attempts) and will deny 
access to an IP address it sees as an issue.   That ban is temporary, 
starting at 10 minutes, and then it will open back up again (because it 
could have been an honest mistake) but will again ban the offending IP 
address if it continues to be a problem.   Those bans increase in amount 
of time before simply making the ban permanent.

The other possibility I can think of is if WordPress (or a plugin) was 
undergoing an update or something new gets activated. That will place 
the website into a maintenance mode while the updates take place so that 
WordPress doesn't get its toes stepped on.
