[Board] Chair Pricing for JP2

I took a look at the budget.
We have $900 allocated this year for equipment, none of it spent. The
$319.95 for timpani heads would definitely come out of that pool of money
without issue. I vote YES on this immediate purchase.
There is no money in the budget allocated for donation to JP2. There is
also no money in the budget for hiring an outside graphic artist to do our
concert programs and posters. Which means this money is going to have to
come from the following sources: private donations, corporate donations,
corporate matching funds, money buckets at concerts, program ad sales,
CD/DVD sales, and rewards programs (Kroger, Amazon Smile, etc.). I believe
we have donations sitting in Pay Pal, and as soon as I can get logon
information from Jen Grace, I will transfer that money to our account.
I have seen $0 from money buckets for either the Eisemann or the Senior
Center concerts. If someone has these funds, please bring them to me ASAP.
It¹s only January, but if we don¹t step up collections in these areas,
particularly the concert buckets (where we usually take in $5000 per year),
we will finish the year $7800 below our income target. We spent a good
portion of our cash reserves last year on The Stockton Helbing Trio and TBA
trip. We still have a small buffer, but we will easily use it for chairs
and a graphic artist.
I¹m not voting NO on the chairs, but we need a commitment from the board to
ensure we raise more funding via the sources I mentioned above, or other
creative methods.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Subject: [Board] Chair Pricing for JP2
All,
I heard back from Michael on the pricing received from Wenger for the 16
chairs and the rack.
The total cost is $2,084.
I told him we were expecting it to be closer to $1,500, but that I would
pass it along.
He stated that anything the board would be willing to do, he and the program
would be appreciative.
Please talk amongst yourselves and let me know what tell him.
On another note, our timpani covers are beginning to ³shed² their inside
protective cover. It is leaving a black spongy residue on the timpani heads
and rims. We need to look at replacing the covers at some point as well.
My first pass at replacement covers from Lone Star Percussion for a complete
set of 5 would be $319.95. They could have them ready to pick up in 2-4
weeks.
That should be enough for now.
Thank you!
